PART ONE
Put your brand on 3 applications:
• blog
• repeat pattern used on something that works with your story (fabric, tiles, etc.)
• choose one more thing specific to your brand that you are sure no one else is using


PART TWO
Present a “wrap-up” of your brand with the 3 applications in PowerPoint. Highlight successful research, techniques, colors, design, logo, etc. Emphasize your “story” from inception to design applications.
You will present to a guest critic. Keep explanations clear, concise and relevant.


Present all work in PowerPoint and keep 8.5”x11” pages in your binder.
For special applications (fabric, objects, products) create and present actual sample pieces.

PART ONE
Considering your revised name and logo, identify an artistic technique/style that enhances or clarifies your brand’s story. Present visual examples that explain how this technique/style relates to your story.


PART TWO
Create a poster that incorporates this technique/style and communicates your brand’s story.
Dimensions of your poster are: 30 inches x 40 inches.


PART THREE
Pick a name at random. You will each be presenting another student’s story. Because someone else will have to present your work, make sure to keep explanations simple with strong visuals.
Rule: Apart from title and name, there should be no explanatory text to read on the presentations.


Present all work in PowerPoint and keep 8.5”x11” pages in your binder.

You will clarify the identity of your brand using text and graphics.
Incorporate the critique/discussion of your work from the last class.


PART ONE (text)
Use your name as your brand identity (first or last, both, nickname, etc.)
Write a sentence that explains your brand. This will be your ‘story’.
Example: “My name is John Smith and I collect baseball cards.”
In your presentation, define ways in which your colors clarify this story.


PART TWO (graphics)
Find a logo/icon or ‘image treatment’ that relates to your ‘story’ or personal interests.
Use this as inspiration to create a graphic logo/icon that supports your ‘story’.

Present all work in PowerPoint and keep 8.5”x11” pages in your binder.

You are developing a brand. This brand is based on you and your ‘story’.
Research will be INTEGRAL to creating this work.
Presentations will be made to the class in PowerPoint.
Binders (8.5”x11”) of all work will be required to document and communicate developing work.


PART ONE
Bring in two examples of brands that make effective use of color.
Be prepared to explain how color helps define each brand’s ‘story’.

Think about the following examples:
Banks
Oil / Gas Companies
Teen Magazines
Candy / Junk Food
Health Food Stores


PART TWO
Building on Part One of the assignment, design a color palette that is based on you and your story.

Present your color palette in the form of a flag design (8.5 x11”).
Present 3 design variations.

Starting points for your presentation:
What personal features of your ‘story’ relate to the brands you presented?
How does your flag make effective use of the color palette?
